Our Values
1. Prayer. At Liberty Bible Church, prayer is the most important element of the individual and the church. God will move and do incredible works if the individual and the corporate church are hungry, passionate, and expectant in prayer. Therefore, having believers come together to pray for the manifest Presence of the Spirit, the needs of the church, community, and region, lost loved ones, the general lost, etc., is critical (Matt. 21:21-22; John 15:5-7; Acts 1:13-14; Eph. 6:18; 1 Tim 2:1-4).
Prayer is essential due to the reality of spiritual warfare. As we know from the Scriptures, there is a spiritual world that has an influence upon our natural world. Prayer is a powerful tool to push back against spiritual darkness and achieve God’s purposes (Eph. 6:12-18; Mk. 9:14-29; Dan. 10:1-14; Luke 18:1-8).
2. Virtue. Virtue or moral excellence is found throughout Scripture as it communicates godly character. Peter exclaims to supplement one’s faith with virtue (2 Pet. 1:5). Living a virtuous life is the fruit of one’s faith in Jesus Christ and is a testimony to the lost (1 Pet. 3:15). Therefore, being trained in godliness is essential to discipleship and in sharing the gospel (2 Pet. 1:5-8; 1 Cor. 13:13; 1 Tim. 4:8; Gal. 5:22-23).
3. Sound Doctrine. Having a love for the Word of God helps facilitate loving the God of the Word and His people. Our central focus at Liberty Bible Church is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that of sin and repentance. Moreover, we believe that the church should also be well-versed in the covenants that undergird the Gospel: the Abrahamic covenant, Davidic covenant, and New covenant. These covenants are central to the believer’s faith and are integrated through our preaching and teaching. Understanding and knowing the intricacies of these covenants and how they undergird the Gospel strengthens faith and provides a logical way to understand God’s plan of salvation. Further, it will help each individual understand why they believe what they believe (Gen. 12:1-3; 15; 1 Chr. 16:14-18; 2 Sam. 7; 1 Chr. 17:11-14; 2 Chr. 6:16; Jer. 31:31-34; Eze. 36:27; Heb. 10:14-18; Lk. 22:20; Jn. 3:3-8; Tit. 3:5).

4. Training leaders. God values leadership tremendously. It is central to His plan for producing godly offspring that will reflect his glory; therefore, it is central to the mission of Liberty Bible Church (Mal. 2:15; Matt. 28:18-20). The training of leaders is not only a critical component of a healthy and growing church but also a thriving society. This theme is modeled throughout Scripture. When the priests, prophets, and kings of Israel were obedient to the law of God, Israel thrived as a nation (1 Ki. 10:1-10). However, when they became disobedient and forsook the law of God, not only did the people suffer, but the leaders were judged (Eze. 9; 11:1-13). In addition, Liberty Bible Church will train leaders to be deployed to plant churches that are centered on Christ, the Gospel, advancing the kingdom, and leader disciples into greater freedom in Christ. Discipling leaders are an imperative to further the reach of the lost (Luke 22:26; Acts 14:23; Titus 1:5).
5. Christian education. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15).
Liberty Bible Church has an immense passion for Christian education and learning—elementary and adult Christian education. Both demographics are critical in building a strong, articulate Christian witness across generations.
The infiltration of secular humanism in public schools is a fundamental problem and threat to biblical orthodoxy due to its ideological worldview being godless. As a result of this aggressive push within public education, many of our youth are being trained to be, at best, skeptical towards Christ and the Gospel or, at worst, God-hating. Whether it is for the good to glorify God, or for the bad that promotes godlessness, education (or discipleship) is occurring. Therefore, Liberty Bible Church will be associated with United America Christian Academy, a K-12 school that will be planted under the guidance of the elders and the board of directors.
Adult Christian Education
Acts 2:42 states, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”
Adult Christian education is as critical as elementary Christian education. Therefore, the standard of adult Christian education will be comparable to that of undergraduate education given at a Bible school level. Elevating the standard of teaching to this level will strengthen both those teaching and the congregation as they progress further in Christian maturity.
Essentially, the goal of Christian education within the local church is to build and strengthen disciples across generations.
6. Evangelism. At Liberty Bible Church, we value the human soul; therefore, evangelism is a priority amongst leaders and laity. We have been given the Great Commission from our Lord to make disciples. However, sharing Jesus is not just about making disciples, it’s about declaring the glorious Christ to the world! Unquestionably, at Liberty Bible Church, we will seek to win every soul to Jesus; however, the motivation is to declare the greatness of God through the gospel to a lost world (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 5:20; Rom. 10:14-17).
7. Community. Growing in community at Liberty Bible Church is of great importance. Our fellowship will be centered in growing in passionate adoration of the Lord, loving and caring relationships, and connecting with our community. Therefore, small groups are instrumental in building relationships with each other. Moreover, there will be biblical teaching, and the groups will engage in outreach projects throughout the year to build camaraderie and to connect with the community (Is. 6:8; 58:5-14; Matt. 20:26-28; Acts 2:42; Col. 3:16; Heb. 10:25).
8. Christian Heritage. New England played a central role in the formation of the United States because of its rich Christian heritage—Connecticut had a State Church from 1639 to 1818. Likewise, many political leaders, statesmen, and founding fathers understood the role of the church and godly living to maintain freedom for our republic. Moreover, the principle of remembrance is central to biblical theology (Exo. 12; Lev. 23:4-8; Num. 29:12–40; Luke 22:19;1 Cor. 11:23-25).
Refreshing our Christian history (especially in New England) is imperative because most believers do not know about their Christian heritage and why it’s vitally important to our country’s heritage. In short, if the local church will not teach the accurate Christian history of its influence on liberty and the formation of our country, culture, and society, who will? Therefore, Liberty Bible Church values our Christian heritage as a country and will teach the importance of these ideals.
9. Cultural and Political Engagement. Liberty Bible Church believes engaging cultural issues from a biblical perspective is imperative for the health of the church and society. Some examples of these issues are homosexuality, transgenderism, abortion, cultural Marxism, etc. Likewise, being engaged politically is just as important. To be clear we are not advocating for political parties. However, we do want to aggressively advocate for virtue, righteousness, and godliness in the civic sphere. Our rationale for engaging these issues from a biblical worldview is expressed as follows:
- Cultural issues have spiritual roots. As Solomon states, “There is nothing new under the sun” (Eccl. 1:9). The cultural issues we are facing today, by and large, have occurred before, albeit with different nuances. Believers must be instructed in biblical truth and wisdom to have the proper perspective, confidence, and boldness when facing applicable challenges.
- Parishioners are looking for answers. Church members are informed through news channels, social media, educational institutions, etc. By absorbing information from these sources, their worldview is shaped consciously or unconsciously. Therefore, leadership, preaching, and teaching a biblical worldview regarding what we face in our society are essential.
- Discernment and understanding are imperative for leaders. The sons of Issachar were characterized as men who understood the times and knew what to do (1 Chr. 12:32). Having a thumb on the pulse of what is happening culturally and being engaged is necessary if we are going to advance the kingdom of God effectively in our changing times.
- The political and spiritual realms are closely aligned. “When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan” (Prov. 29:2). The kingdom of God by nature is political because it is a kingdom with a King, Jesus Christ. As followers of Jesus, we are to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness as being salt and light in the world (Matt. 5:13-16; 6:33). Therefore, while living in a free republic, we have the responsibility to exemplify righteousness in all areas of life including the civic sphere. Whether giving a voice at governmental hearings, running for office, etc., civic engagement is critical to uphold righteousness in our state and local community.
